Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Fellowship Breakfast & Awards
Celebrating 25 Years of Fellowship, Reflection, and Action
Silver Anniversary Fellowship Breakfast & Awards
Three Valleys Community Foundation (3VCF) hosted the 25th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Fellowship Breakfast & Awards, a beloved Tri-Valley tradition. This highly anticipated event took place on Monday, January 26, 2026, from 8:00–9:30 AM at the Palm Event Center in the Vineyards.
Continuing a cherished community legacy previously hosted by organizations including Tri-Valley Y and the Pleasanton Community of Character Collaborative, 3VCF proudly carried this tradition forward, expanding its reach to reflect and represent the entire Three Valleys region and its enduring spirit of unity.
This year’s theme, “The Fierce Urgency of Now,” drew from one of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s most memorable and powerful calls to action:
“We are now faced with the fact that tomorrow is today. We are confronted with the fierce urgency of now. In this unfolding conundrum of life and history, there is such a thing as being too late. This is no time for apathy or complacency. This is a time for vigorous and positive action.”
– Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
A Gathering for Reflection, Fellowship, and Community
The Silver Anniversary Breakfast featured an inspiring keynote address from Faith Alpher. Faith Alpher is a New Jersey–born storyteller, nationally recognized, inspirational keynote speaker, professional comedian, author, and educator whose work echoes Dr. King’s call for justice, dignity, and the power of every voice. Faith uses humor and storytelling to build bridges across culture, generation, and lived experience. Faith is the author of the forthcoming spoken-word book “The Voice You Forgot You Had” (Nov. 2026) and the recipient of an Alameda County Board of Supervisors commendation for advancing unity, empathy, and community healing through the arts.
Tim Sbranti, respected community leader, 3VCF Advisor, and former Mayor of Dublin, served as emcee, as he has done for several years.
Over 250 guests enjoyed a hearty buffet breakfast with a curated, locally sourced menu created especially for this occasion, including coffee, tea, and mimosa stations — a celebratory spread designed to nourish both body and spirit.
“I believe laughter is holy, storytelling is medicine, and when we truly listen to one another – we can move mountains.” – Faith Alpher.
Honoring Legacy and Leadership Across the Region
For the first time, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Legacy Awards recognized changemakers from each of the communities that comprise the Three Valleys region — including Alamo, Danville, Dublin, Livermore, Pleasanton, San Ramon, and Sunol. These awards celebrate individuals whose leadership and service exemplify Dr. King’s ideals of justice, courage, and hope in action.
We received 49 nominations for the inaugural 3VCF Young Philanthropist Award, recognizing youth who are creating meaningful change through innovation, compassion, and service.
