Raas Garba / Dandiya Nights take place on weekends leading up to Diwali. Diwali is the biggest national festival in India, celebrating the human ability to overcome adversity and the triumph of light over darkness. The Raas Garba folk dance brings people from multiple parts of India together in an important annual cultural and family event. Families and groups of friends assemble for a traditional garba (rhythmic steps in large circles), then dandiya or raas, which is done in groups with small decorative sticks. No previous Raas Garba experience is necessary for participation. For those new to this tradition, fear not! There will be skilled instructors on hand. Commemorative dandiya sticks are included with each paid ticket.
