On Dec. 5, 2022, more than 60 years of research and development came together when fusion ignition was achieved for the first time in history at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. This breakthrough opens new realms of scientific exploration, helping to ensure U.S. national security and laying the groundwork for inertial fusion energy. Our vibrant Three Valleys Region is home to over 300 nonprofits providing direct service to our community. These local nonprofits host a number of engaging community and fundraising events, both free and ticketed, in support of a wide range of worthy causes.
