2025 Summer Newsletter

Spotlight on Summer

Seasonal Highlights from 3VCF

As summer reaches its peak and our days are filled with warmth and energy, we at Three Valleys Community Foundation are embracing this sunlit season of growth and momentum. Like seedlings nourished by the sun, our community’s generosity and shared vision continue to take root and flourish. One metaphor, in particular, captures the spirit of the season:

“A summer day is when the world is full of promise,
and giving is simply a way of watering the future.”

This summer, we’re shining a light on what’s possible when compassion, collaboration, and purpose come together. From new philanthropic funds and expanding partnerships to youth empowerment and community impact, our Summer 2025 newsletter is filled with the many ways we’re givinggranting, and growing—together. None of this would be possible without the steadfast support of our 3VCF Board, Advisory Council, team members. and Professional Advisors Network. Their belief and personal investment in our mission continues to illuminate pathways for transformation and expanded opportunity.

Giving

The heart of summer shines brightest when generosity is in full bloom. At Three Valleys Community Foundation, giving isn’t just a moment—it’s a movement. We have listened and responded to our community members, who have asked us to provide new, different, and streamlined ways to give and grant locally.

925 GIVES – 2025 Campaign Launch

Our first-ever regional collective giving campaign is officially underway! Culminating in a 24-hour giving day on 9/25/25, with special donor match challenges from 9am to 5pm, 925 GIVES is designed to boost the power of local philanthropy in support of nonprofits serving our Tri-Valley and beyond, encompassing our entire 925 service region. With a hyper-local focus on being first in generosity, by providing resources to nonprofits struggling to meet ever-increasing demand for services, we are encouraging everyone in the 925 area to Give Where You Live.

From now through September 15, 2025, nonprofits registered in our 3VCF Nonprofit Directory, that are in good standing, and serving the 925 service area region, may sign up to take part at 925GIVES.org/register.

The extended 925 GIVES giving day donation window is from August 25, 2025 – September 30, 2025. All donations are welcome and appreciated, both large and small — and will be earmarked for participating nonprofits.

Advance Sponsorship Opportunities for giving day donor matches and special category challenges (e.g., job-alike, civic or alumni group, neighborhood, etc.), are available now by contacting info@3vcf.org or donating directly: 925 GIVES Sponsorships & Donation Matches.

Corporate Challenge & Donor Recognition

A heartfelt thank you goes out to our donors, corporate challenge participants, and community sponsors whose generosity continues to fuel our mission and impact. Your commitment keeps our foundation strong and forward-moving. Our Sustainability Circle Members; Corporate Challenge donors; government, community and civic partners; event sponsors; dedicated grant funders; and fundholders are the driving force behind our ability to Give, Grant, and Grow—helping us build a more vibrant, robust, and connected region where everyone can thrive.

Thank you supporters

Spotlight on 3VCF Annual Board Retreat

This spring, we held our annual, facilitated Board Retreat at the scenic 5 Rivers Aviation facility in Livermore. Our retreat gave us the chance to revisit our original Strategic Plan, refine our focus, and align around key priorities for 3VCF’s next chapter of growth.Thank you to our amazing all-volunteer Board for your commitment, your vision, and your partnership. The future is bright under your leadership!

Granting

Like sunlight reaching open fields, grantmaking allows resources to flow where they’re needed most—empowering nonprofits, strengthening community bonds, and supporting those on the front lines of change. This summer, and all year-round, our grants are helping address urgent needs while creating meaningful momentum.

NextGen Fund Empowers Our Youth

The first official grant from our newly launched NextGen Philanthropy Fund supports the Little League Intermediate World Series—a globally recognized youth tournament hosted locally in Livermore. This exciting initiative bolsters youth development, sportsmanship, and leadership. All donations made to 3VCF’s  NextGen Fund between now and August 30th will benefit the LLIWS.
