SUMMARY:Discovery Dandiya Night
DESCRIPTION:Raas Garba / Dandiya Nights take place on weekends leading up to Diwali. Diwali is the biggest national festival in India\, celebrating the human ability to overcome adversity and the triumph of light over darkness. The Raas Garba folk dance brings people from multiple parts of India together in an important annual cultural and family event. Families and groups of friends assemble for a traditional garba (rhythmic steps in large circles)\, then dandiya or raas\, which is done in groups with small decorative sticks. No previous Raas Garba experience is necessary for participation. For those new to this tradition\, fear not! There will be skilled instructors on hand. Commemorative dandiya sticks are included with each paid ticket.

SUMMARY:Fostering Wishes’ Holiday Gift Drive for Local Foster Children
DESCRIPTION:As the holiday season approaches\, Fostering Wishes is gearing up for our 8th Annual Holiday Gift Drive\, a heartwarming program that lies at the core of our mission. Our commitment is simple: to enhance the quality of life for local foster children during their time in the foster system and to prepare them for self-sufficiency as young adults. The Holiday Gift Drive\, our inaugural program\, continues to symbolize our hope and love for local foster children. \nHow It Works:\nDuring the holiday season\, Fostering Wishes partners with local businesses to create “giving” trees. Individuals in the community can select a holiday tag from these trees\, purchase the requested gift\, and return it to the same business. Alternatively\, some businesses host displays with our flyer (see flyer below) containing a QR code. This code links individuals to our Amazon Wish List\, where they can choose and purchase gifts for foster children. The list also provides links to our Website and Instagram for more information about Fostering Wishes. \nThe Power of Giving:\nThese gifts are more than material presents; they carry a profound message to foster children. It’s a powerful affirmation that their community cherishes and values them. The significance goes beyond the tangible\, conveying a heartfelt message that they are not alone. \nCommunity Response:\nWhat truly sets this program apart is the remarkable response from the community. Thousands of gifts\, generously donated\, find their way into the hands of hundreds of local foster children. This outpouring of goodwill and support exemplifies the collective effort to make the holidays memorable for these young lives.\nWe invite you to join us in spreading joy and warmth to foster children in our community. Your participation can make a meaningful impact and create cherished memories for these deserving young individuals. \nFostering Wishes is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation. We are proud to be 100% volunteer-driven\, and all proceeds go to foster children!
